We covered time last week, so I just wanted to share what all we did because most of it I found for free. First made these flip clocks to help them count by 5s. Click here for the template. The next day we made a huge clock out of index cards and sentence strips. I had each kid show me a time on the clock and then I put a time on the clock for each kid to read. Wednesday we made a timeline of our day. I put the kids in groups and gave them a blank clock. We picked out 8 things that we do…

Paper Plate Clock Activity for Learning to Tell Time - Frugal Fun For Boys and Girls

When I saw this idea on Pinterest (from Mrs. Dahl’s Classroom) to make a paper plate clock for learning to tell time, I knew we had to do it! Gresham is ready to learn how to tell time, and we have been needing to just sit down and work on it. Easier said than done […]

Learning to tell time Hands on. I'm only pinning this to remind myself that sadly, my highschoolers get to my Spanish 1 class not even knowing how to tell time on an analog clock. Makes teaching time in Spanish a real challenge. Learning to tell time Hands on

Common Core standard: CC.2.MD.7 This clock is a great way for students to learn how to tell time. They can color in each hand to identify the hour hand from the minute hand. Print this out on cardstock and put it together to allow students to have their own hands on clock to use in class or at ho...

This tool is a handy arts project for students to keep at their desks. It is easy to make and effectively illustrates the relationship between minutes and hours. It's About Time!

Last weekend I went to the Indiana blogger meet-up at French Lick. I was able to visit old friends and make new friends! It was a lot of fun, but more on that soon! We have Envision math and we are currently on the topic that covers time. Ugh...teaching time is one of the most difficult things for me. I mean, if you think about it there are A LOT of skills for those little 5 and 6 year olds to learn! Here is what I came up with... After the clock is put together, just practice, Practice…
