Extraordinary Araminta Harriet (Ross) Tubman, born a slave in 1820 to slave parents, escaped North and carried out 19 dangerous missions to the south to save 300 slaves (including her parents) thru the Underground Railroad. She helped recruit men for the Harper's Ferry Raid, worked as a scout and armed spy for the Union,  and founded a home for aged African Americans. Enslaved women, regardless of their age, were viewed as seducers of White men. This was a way for slave owners or plantation overseers to justify their raping of the black women.

American freedom fighter and orator, Sojourner Truth (pron.: /soʊˈdʒɜrnər ˈtruːθ/; c. 1797 – November 26, 1883) was the self-given name, from 1843 onward, of Isabella Baumfree, an African-American abolitionist and women's rights activist. Truth was born into slavery in Swartekill, Ulster County, New York, but escaped with her infant daughter to freedom in 1826. After going to court to recover her son, she became the first black woman to win such a case against a white man.

Her name has become equated to the definition of integrity. Sojourner Truth, African American abolitionist and women's rights activist Isabella Baumfree was born into slavery in the century, but became a persuasive roving orator.

La Mulâtresse Solitude (1772-19 November 1802), was a slave rebel and heroine of the fight against slavery in Guadeloupe.  Originally a slave, she was freed by the abolition of slavery in 1794 during the French revolution. When slavery was reintroduced on Guadeloupe by Napoleon in 1802, she joined Louis Delgrès call to fight for her freedom and took part in the Battle of the 18 May 1802.  She was captured and executed by hanging after being granted to wait out her pregnancy.

Slave who gave birth to her slave owners child from rape, then to be talked to badly by her own child not giving away that was her mother This picture is of a slave and the child she gave birth to being raised as white by the slave owners wife as she was childless... The children did not know of this situation so treated there own birth mothers  badly.
