Base and lid of a red pottery coffin: pseudo-anthropomorphic, the face and hands modelled in relief. One hand holds a cruciform symbol, apparently fastened to a chain around the waist. This evidence has been used to suggest that the deceased was a Christian, containing the mummy of a small child, sex uncertain, wrapped in interwoven linen bandages with a fringe around the head. A compact sandy material, possibly a form of coarse plaster, holds the body in its coffin.
Make walls look old - base coat in a satin sheen finish. Once dry, rub paste finishing wax for furniture onto walls with folded cheesecloth in intermittent & irregularly shaped areas. Paint second coat with very coarse plaster texturing brush. Apply sparsely. Sand with coarse sandpaper & scrape slightly with paint scraper
