Botswana Okavango Delta by youngrobv. No laughing hyena, it's actually a yawning hyena, but effective for another dramatic shot from the Moremi Game Reserve all the same.

Spotted Hyena. These guys have an unfair bad rep due to the lion king movie. When in fact they hunt more than lions and usually are bullied more by lions.

The striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena) is a species of true hyena native to North and East Africa, the Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. It is the smallest of the true hyenas and retains many primitive viverrid characteristics lost in larger species, having a smaller and less specialised skull. Though primarily a scavenger, large specimens have been known to kill their own prey, and attacks on humans have occurred on rare instances.

Striped hyena by Tejas Soni I don't generally like Hyenas but this one is rather pretty, and a little menacing!

Hyenas photographed with BeetleCam in Liuwa Plain, Zambia. This was a single exposure. I used a set of Camtraptions Wireless Triggers to fire an off-camera flash at the start of the exposure
