Hung Hsiu Chuan (Taiping Emperor) ~ The self-appointed leader of the Taiping movement, who declared himself the “brother” of Jesus. ~ Hung Hsiu-ch’uan made himself leader of the largest popular movement in Imperial times. involving slaughtering millions of Chinese soldiers & civilians over a five-year period. The Taiping were on way Beijing when  Imp.govt gave much of its sovereignty to the West so the European armies would crush rebellion, which happened & in 1865 died, perhaps by suicide…
