#Repost @thecodercoder Happy Monday! So far I'm really enjoying my new desk setup. One big improvement I've noticed is that I have a lot more real estate now compared with the desk raisers I was using in the past. I also am trying to clean up my cables so they're not so visible haha. . I initially got interested in the whole standing desk trend b/c I was getting lower back stiffness and pain after working at a desk job for a few years. It's a bit embarrassing to admit but I'd even sometimes pull something in my back when putting socks on! T__T . It was worst when I was on vacation and walking for hours all day-- my back hurt a ton after only 2 hours so it really sucked. But the crazy thing was on my recent trip to Hong Kong and Tokyo after 2 weeks of forcing myself to walk and be in pain I suddenly felt fine on day 14. My theory is that my body had been so used to sitting and finally after 2 weeks my muscles had gotten used to the walking. I'm not a doctor so obviously take all this with a grain of salt but since then I've been trying to spend more time standing and also moving around throughout the day. And I can put socks on now without fear of tweaking my back. . I don't think standing desks are a magical cure-all to everything but I'm a fan because I'm at least more likely to move around and not just be stationary if I'm standing at my desk as opposed to sitting. . How do you combat sitting all day? Do you try to stay active? . . . . #ergonomics #standingdesk #setupinspiration #desk #computer #desksetup #deskgoals #workstation #webdeveloper #webdevelopment #webdev #codinglife #html #css #js #javascript #setups #homeoffice #workspaces #programmerlife #programmer #womenwhocode #womenintech #fullstackdeveloper #frontenddeveloper #reactjs #nodejs #html5 #css3 Lower Back Stiffness, Frontend Developer, Desk Goals, Back Hurts, Desk Job, Desk Setup, Happy Monday
