The stream of Sompe originates in the territory of the village of Lagorce. The Sompe is a tributary of the Salastre, which is, itself, a tributary Ibie. The course of these two streams is entirely in the Lagorce ban.
Lake Retba or Lac Rose (meaning Pink lake) lies north of the Cap Vert peninsula of Senegal. It is named for its pink waters caused by Dunaliella salina algae and is known for its high salt content, up to in some areas.
