The one inch spiral gill plumes of Christmas Tree Featherduster worms extend from a coral formation in 40 feet of water, Grand Cayman. The third, brown gill structure belongs to a second individual living uncharacteristically close to the yellow worm.
Looks very similar to the moray eel my brother-in-law caught while fishing off the pier in Bodrum. Not quite what he was expecting to catch. Putting it back in the water was as frightening as its teeth.
