Chief Naiche was the final hereditary chief of the Chiricahua band of Apache. Naiche's name, which in English means "meddlesome one" or "mischief maker". He was the youngest son of Cochise. Naiche died on March 1919 in Mescalero, New Mexico.
This Native American man brandishes a nickeled Richards Conversion Colt in Colt centerfire caliber, as well as an infantry NCO sword. Since the Army did issue a number of Richards Conversion Colts, this native may have gotten his while serving as a scout.
