This depicts another type of tile in Barcelona, typically known as the "Flor de Barcelona". It is the most popular and recognizable tiles and has become a Catalan symbol of the city. They were originally designed by Catalan and Modernisme architect Josep Piug i Cadafalch. "El Panot de Flor," "Flor de Barcelona," or "Rosa de Barcelona" is the floor tiling/pavement of much of Barcelona, and is perhaps one of the most recognizable icons of the city. The tiles were originally designed by Catalan and Modernisme architect Josep Piug i Cadafalch for use in Casa Amatller, but were later used throughout the city. The design of the tile makes clear reference to reproducible floral motifs, and serves as one of the most iconic examples of the Modernisme movement.
