Ken Condal's fantastic orrery took ten months to build and contains 30 gears. He began his work by modeling the orrery in 3DS MAX, then milling out all of the brass gears in his workshop. He also created the planets on a lathe using exotic wood, like using zebrawood for Jupiter.

The Aviator is truly one of the most complex and exquisite mechanical models that Ugears has to offer. Unlike many models in Ugears line up — it consists of 3 (!) different modules that must be assembled separately first. The first module is the console — the tower itself with an attached wind-up mechanism and a joystick to regulate the altitude, or rock and pitch, of your flying endeavours.
