Relic
The Guanajuato’s mummy museum. The mummies displayed are almost over 100 years old and were created due to the low humidity of the region. Back in the 19th century, diseases killed many locals and many of the bodies were disposed in mass graves where burial salts were added to help the bodies decompose. A tax was later imposed on families and most families couldn’t afford the cost. The grave workers exhumed the bodies and they were then stored and displayed in the museum.
