Kilometre Loves Travels
Immerse yourself Lac de Derborence and its legend. Swiss author Ramuz used the lake as the scenery for one of his novels, published in 1934. Hidden oasis at 1449 meters in altitude, the lake reveals itself between mountains. Some isolated chalets, a hoard of fir trees and crystal blue waters as the ones on the other side of the world. In the distance, the sweet sound of the cascades, giants feeding the lake and watering the local fauna with it’s freshly melted ice coming from the glacier.
Maria Island is overwhelming and indelible. It's a natural wildlife sanctuary and off-shore retreat with historic ruins, sweeping bays, dramatic cliffs and plenty of Kangaroos rushing around like rabbits in a second you dare to approach. For long travels in deserted areas and wild nature, a true explorer needs a dust-coat designed specifically for long and difficult journeys. Light breathing fabrics and long sleeves are made to protect the body from heat.
Light-hearted legends or important beliefs, the choice is yours. Lac de Derborence is spied by its residents: it apparently is some mischievous and lawless creatures’ playground. They come out at night with lanterns, and the Quille du Diable (the Devil’s Keel), a huge piece of rock at the top of a mountain, is their goal when they play games with huge rocks. #travel #destinations #swiss #switzerland #lacdederborence #summerclothes #lake #mountains #tshirt
