Vintage Neiger Brothers choker. This classic Art Nouveau Czech glass necklace is superbly crafted with a carved hummingbird design. Dagobert Peche
Dagobert Peche studied in Vienna between 1908 and 1911. Starting with mechanical engineering at the Technical Institute, he switched to the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, where he studied architecture. His formal language at first revealed Baroque and Rococo influences, but he was also interested in standardizing forms and the new possibilities afforded by industrial mass production of crafts objects. British Museum EA 20868. 20th dynasty, about 1170 BC. Painted wood. From Thebes. The figure depicts the god wearing his characteristic feathered crown and grasping the royal crook and flail sceptres. The green colouring of the skin reflects the god's associations with vegetation as a metaphor for rebirth. This statuette contained the rolled funerary papyrus of the lady Anhai.
