2 Rooms is a gallery/museum that provides a platform for art exhibitions, on-site installation projects and material culture. It opened in Summer 2012 and is located in a traditional saltbox house in Duntara, on the beautiful Bonavista Peninsula. The 2 Rooms Artist Residency opened in Summer 2014.

Sara Angelucci’s intriguing series titled Aviary recalls the past to create strange portraits of birds that are superimposed onto anonymous nineteenth century cartes-de-visite (small, business card sized) photographs. Sara Angellucci is one of our featured artists in Nature Factory. Sara is a Toronto-based artist working in photography, video and audio.The photos in Aviary are made by combining photos of endangered or extinct North American birds with anonymous 19th century portraits-they portray creatures about to become ghosts. Flag presents a familiar cultural image made entirely of natural specimens. This is the fourth annual display by Beaudette that explores  the visual and conceptual rhetoric of museological pracice. Sylvia Galbraith is a photographer with an interest in remote locations where the land is unchanged and history lies just below the surface. Sylvia will be staying at 2 Rooms Artist Residency between August 27th - September 15th, 2015. It is Sylvia's first visit to NL - we know that she will find lots of inspiration here.
