Antique Louis XIV Bollection fireplace made out of Red Levanto marble - Marble

The attractive Louis XIV style moulding of this fireplace is highlighted by the beautiful colours of the Red Levanto marble. This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert or marble floor but these could be made to order.

This very beautiful antique Napoleon III style fireplace was made out of a magnificent and rare Levanto Red marble during the century. This lower part of the jambs is decorated with the legs of lions. The top of the jambs are very curved. Antique Napoleon III period fireplace in Levanto Red marble - Marble

This very beautiful antique Napoleon III style fireplace was made out of a magnificent and rare Levanto Red marble during the 19th century. This lower part of the jambs is decorated with the legs of lions. The top of the jambs are very curved. This fireplace is sold with a cast iron insert which is not the original one. The hearth is broken but could be restored on demand.

Levanto marble was first exploited during the 12th century, a period when quarries were found on the Ligure coast, in Italy. Since then, nineteen quarries have been opened in this area and have produced this marble. Today there are only two quarries which are still…
