Versailles Parquet - Versailles floors
Collection by Marc Maison • Last updated 8 weeks ago
Versailles Parquet is a type of marquetry, which refers to the Palace of Versailles, since it was originally designed to replace all the marble floors in 1693. It was made of oak and the traditional dimensions went from 3 to 4 feet (97 to 130 cm) depending of the size of the room. The design of this floor is made of pre assembled square wood panels, interwoven with a diagonal pattern, fixed on battens.
