Fall Workshops: Fine Motor Fun
Research shows that fine motor skills are linked to success in writing and academics. I just HAVE to share some of the super fun activities that we we used for our fine motor workshop last fall. They are geared towards students in Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade, but the activities are so fun that even I had fun! Stomping in the Mud
Our little Stompers' imaginations and creative energy flourished during our cold and wet February. They filled their time with us by exploring, socialising, climbing, jumping and balancing, with an energy that is always surprising to us no matter how challenging the weather is. I heard they were making apple pie in the wheel barrow....Yum! See you in April. Thanks for Stomping by!

Tot School Yellow and M
Since I have decided to structure Hattie's learning a little more this year, I have also decided to have a plan for Celie as well. It definitely is not structured or anything formal, but our days seem to flow better when there are goals. For Celie (24 mos), we will be learning a color a month, two sounds, a numeral, and a shape. We will also continue to do crafts around the monthly theme (I will be modifying Hattie's thematic studies for her). I will also be introducing age-appropriate books…

But most kids will at least watch someone do something new...and try it after seeing what happens. Some just jump right in and try it. This week I enjoyed the techniques and attempts to use…
