Maximalism -Decor Design
When we shot this kitchen we actually took out a lot of the personality-ridden quirky bits and bobs in order to try and make it look more minimal, because minimalism was a huge trend at the time. Now we wish we had also done some shots that included those extra pieces of the homeowner’s soul.
Solid Wood Islands!
We ALWAYS recommend a wooden top on our client’s kitchen islands. Wood is warm, winter or summer, it feels good to sit at a wooden island - in opposition to a cold stone top. Wooden tops also bring in an aspect of natural to your decor. It cuts through sharp lines and adds a feeling of softness and realness. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with a wooden top on your island. #freestandingkitchens #kitchenisland #milestonekitchens #solidwoodislands #kitchendecor #woodenfurniture

Swedish Style Table Island
Everyone loves a kitchen island, but most islands have an overhang on one side only, so when you and your family have a meal at the island you have to sit in a long row. The Table Island is Silvia Miles’s innovative solution. It has a table on one end and a prep and storage area on the other end: a table + an island = the table island.
