Julia was born in Ukraine into a family full of poverty, pain & addiction. One day, children in Julia’s church received brightly colored shoeboxes from OCC. Julia not only got a gift that day, but finally something to call her own. In her box she found candy, make-up, jewelry and other girl items. Julia began dreaming of moving to the USA. She would save her candy wrappers because they said “Made in USA” which gave her hope of a safe place.
Notebooks Are a Necessity for OCC Shoe Boxes. These children love to go to school and if they can't afford the supplies, they can't go. The notebooks can be cut in half to be "steno" size and will fit in the shoe boxes very easily.
Items for first boy box of this season -- see other photo for box packed. There are additional items you can't see underneath, such as the soap in a soap box, bandaids, three world maps, comb, and a few other items.
