Edward Seymour, Brother of Jane seymour Duke of Somerset, KG, was Lord Protector of England during the minority of his nephew King Edward VI, in the period between the death of King Henry VIII in 1547 and his own indictment in 1549
Edward Seymour, Earl of Hertford. Later Duke of Somerset. Husband to Anne Stanhope. Son of Edward Seymour, brother to Henry VIII's wife Jane Seymour, uncle to Edward VI. Lord Protector during Edward VI's minority until he was beheaded for treason.

in 1547 Edward Tudor, the only surviving legitimate son of King Henry VIII, was crowned Edward VI of England. Died at Fortunately Henry pre-deceased him and did not live to see the son he had moved Heaven and Earth to have, perish at such a young age.
