Carrigaholt Castle, Loop head Co Clare, Ireland.  The castle was built in late 1400's by the McMahons chiefs of the Peninsula who were descendents of the the King of Munster.                                     The castle was occupied by Teige Caech "the short sighted" McMahon in September 1588 when seven ships of the Spanish Armada anchored at Carrigaholt.
