International Pollination Systems | Leaf cutter bees (megachile spp.), such as this megachile perihirta, are important pollinators of legumes and other vegetables. Most are solitary bees though some live in small groups. The most commonly managed species for crop pollination is the alfalfa or lucerne leafcutter bee (megachile rotundata), although the leaf cutting bee (megachile latimanus) may also sometimes be used. Not generally aggressive.
