1930, Rio de Janeiro. Walter Wanderwell with expedition members, talks about the 1929 Model A Ford that replaced the 1918 Model T Fords, because of more hp and holding more film equipment and cargo. Crowds surrounded them where ever they went on their world journey.
Aloha Wanderwell, our "Queen of Adventure", with Model T Ford in the back ground and a still camera in her hand. Aloha has already driven with the Walter & Wanderwell Expedition almost around the world. 1929 in Beijing.
When the Wanderwell Expedition started in Cape Town South Africa, they were told of a great highway that was built right up through Africa to the top........when Aloha got there she was told it wouldn't be finished for 8 more years. Everything in Africa, from the dry river beds to the open plains, was sand and these little automobiles were not good on soft sand. Here we see them digging out again... Aloha's film "Cape to Cairo' was by far the hardest and most dangerous of all the world legs.
Aloha Wanderwell loved traveling with the expedition through China. Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, all the way along the coast up into Siberia. Here with a crew member and 2 autos at the entrance way to great adventure. What a woman, on a fantastic Journey. NBT www.AlohaWanderwell.com
