SDO Sees Active Solar Regions Blossoming A pair of active regions began to rotate into the view of NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory on Oct.

The Blue Marble is a famous photograph of the Earth, taken on December 7, 1972, by the crew of the Apollo 17 spacecraft, at a distance of about 45,000 kilometres. The photograph was originally oriented with the south pole at the top, with the island of Madagascar visible just left of center, and the continent of Africa at its right.
