Siemens-Schuckert Werke (SSW) D.III assigned to Kest 4b and flown by Vizefeldwebel Paul Leim. Despite the Siemens' advantages of a fast climb & high speed, the aircraft had limited success in the home defence role when compared to regular units and this, combined with increasingly heavy pressure on the Jastas, dictated that the Kests join the latter at the front. Deliveries of the much improved SSW D.IV was also in progress at this time

The Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker (triplane) was a World War I fighter aircraft built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke. The Dr.I saw widespread service in the spring of 1918. It became renowned as the aircraft in which Manfred von Richthofen gained his last 19 victories, and in which he was killed on 21 April 1918.
