Polychrome opaque and translucent glass beads strung with linen thread, held together by interlocking looping stitches (sablé). Commemorates Montgolfier's balloon ascent. Two scenes on white ground, each repeated twice: portrait of Jean Francois Pilâtre de Rozier; balloon ascension of 21 November 1783 in Paris. Silk netting and braided drawstrings with four beaded tassels. Pink silk taffeta lining.
