Spotted Lady's Slipper: Cypripedium yatabeanum [Synonym: Cypripedium guttatum subsp. yatabeanum]. This small to medium-sized, cold-growing species is said to be synomonous with Cypripedium guttatum Sw. yet differs in size, color and location. Found in the Aleutian Islands and Japan with 2 oblong, opposite on stem leaves that blooms in seepage areas and boggy grasslands with a single flowered inflorescence that appears in the early summer.
