Oct 5, 2013 - John Eliot was a famous missionary in the 16 hundreds. He was known for translating the Bible into the Indians' native language. He also helped make a writing system for the Indians and preached the Gospel to them too. Other missionaries are John Campanius, Roger Williams, and David Brainerd.
