A Brief Look: Painter Sam Wolfe Connelly’s Quiet Evil
Gatsby stood, peering across the water. He hoped every day and every night that Daisy would one day return to him. Jay used the light to keep his love for Daisy, and his proof that she was there alive.

the green light represents Gatsby's hopes and dreams for the future. Gatsby associates it with Daisy, and how he hasn't lost hope in being with her.
I always saw the green light at the end of the dock for me it meant something else. The beautiful emerald light came from non other the Daisy's house. It meant hope something i strived for to look ahead and forward for our future together.
The Green Light Pt. Towards the end of the book, the meaning of the green light to Gatsby loses its significance to him when he loses Daisy. He loses hope, there is no growth from the past, he only envies what he could’ve had.
His count of enchanted objects had diminished by one. I love ittttt.
Great quote about the disillusion of dreams not fulfilled
HOPEFUL: Involuntarily I glanced seaward - and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far way, that might have been the end of a dock / Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us.
