Kinetic art sculpture by Jennifer Townley. Sixteen gears (4 by 4) all have the same amount of teeth and hence the same speed. The gears all have a bolt to which a pattern is constructed using a red thread. The wire is attached to the bolts of the upper gears and hangs down over the others where it is kept taut by three weights. As the gears rotate the pattern changes shape slowly.
