Fordite Cabochon - Fordite (Detroit agate), is old automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It is formed from the build up of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were spray-painted.

The original material was created many years ago at the Ford Rouge Plant just outside of Detroit, Michigan.
