Luftwaffe ace Horst Carganico is pictured in the cockpit of his Bf. 109G-6. The photo was taken in either July or August 1942 and Carganico's Mickey Mouse emblen is seen clearly on the fuselage. Carganico joined the Luftwaffe in 1937 and was killed while attempting a forced landing near Chevry, France, on May 27, 1944. He was credited with downing 60 enemy aircraft and was a recipient of the Knight's Cross.
