This is the Aphrodite of Knidos, created by Praxiletes of Athens in 4th century B.C.E. I picked this Classical Artifact because it represents how mythology can be used to represent sexuality safely in an oppressive environment. This is similar to Sappho using classical mythologic elements (like Eros) to present sexuality between the same sex with no repercussions. The technique even came to modern times, contemporary poets using classical mythology to represent homosexuality with impunity. Kuching, Classical Antiquity, Rodin, Monument, Roma, Julio Cortazar, Statues
