In photography, hotspots go hand-in-hand with the rule of thirds. When a 3X3 grid is placed or imagined on a photo, at each point in which the lines meet is referred to as a hotspot. Hotspots are the advised areas (total of four) within your frame to place your center of interest. In this photo, the woman is placed in the lower left hotspot drawing the eyes down from the blurred red lights down to the center of interest. By doing so, it makes the picture more appealing to look at.
